At Woodheyes our primary aims include the contentment and happiness of all our residents, who are all looked upon as one of our family. Every resident is treated as an individual, and is encouraged to exercise choice in all aspects of their care and daily life. Residents are supported by our staff to lead as full and active lifestyle as possible.
Each resident has their own care plan which is designed specifically around their individual care needs and regularly reviewed with them. A member of the care staff is individually assigned to update and liaise with residents and families to ensure the individual care plan is up to date. We can arrange for additional services for all our residents such as Hairdressing, Chiropody, Optician and Dental visits.
Local GPs and District Nurses regularly visit the Home. Medication is safely administered by a professionally trained senior member of staff, or if residents wish to self medicate then this will be risk assessed accordingly by the management team.
Despite the best endeavours of all our dedicated and hardworking staff during 2020 we were, like so many other care homes, unfortunate to have an outbreak of Covid-19 at Woodheyes.
Staff worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and comfort of residents during this difficult time, however understandably our usual routine was significantly disrupted with both residents and staff having to isolate and therefore the home was devastated to receive it's latest CQC inspection report. Whilst the Home acknowledges this was a difficult period of time, all staff have risen to the challenge of ensuring our high standards of care for all our residents are in place and they continue to work in a selfless and devoted manner.
